Get Into the Spirit of the Season:
Cybersecurity Awareness Month
The theme of Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2022 is "See Yourself in Cyber." One great way for students to see themselves in cyber is to get certified and get a job. TestOut cybersecurity courses can help!
Informed individuals are essential to effective cybersecurity. The best tools and services can't protect against human error. And there's always more to learn about how to keep yourself and others safe. Cybersecurity educator and guru Eli Cochran, a star of this summer's TestOut Experience Conference, is coming back Oct. 27 (2 to 3 p.m. Mountain) for an all-new webinar about cybersecurity safety. Don't miss it!
Want to know what's scarier than a black cat or a witch on a broomstick? How about a determined hacker or a massive data breach! These terrifying true tales, read by TestOut's own Gerry Graves, have been a big hit with students in past years. Sample the audio archive and watch for new stories to magically appear later this month!
Hackers and other digital malefactors are constantly on the prowl. Learn more about famous attacks and breaches from our amazing Cybersecurity Month posters. You can download them and print your own free of charge, or visit the Swag Store (more about that in a moment) to see whether we have any printed posters in stock!
We've got socks! We've got shirts! We've got stickers! We've got stuff that doesn't start with the letter S! And now we can finally share all of that swaggy goodness with you. Visit the brand new TestOut Swag Store to find out how you can get official TestOut gear!
Note: We're still in beta mode, so there's no shopping cart yet, but we have a (temporary) workaround.
Everybody knows everything about computers. After all, kids today are "digital natives." Except that there's more to information technology that just apps and Minecraft. Digital Literacy Pro, our course-length introduction to computers and IT, was built by teachers, for teachers. Help your students create a foundation for modern careers and modern life. Want to find out more? We have a video walkthrough for that!
Welcome to the "next generation" of Microsoft server training and certification. Hybrid Server Pro marries the world of Microsoft on-premise servers with the magic of Microsoft Azure cloud services. There are two courses in development: Core and Advanced.
Prelease access to Hybrid Server Pro: Core launches Oct. 11, with the full release on Nov. 8. As Captain Picard would surely say:
Our newest TestOut course, Digital Literacy Pro has a secret superpower! There are nearly 900 questions available in the custom exams section that aren't shown to students anywhere else in the course. They'll learn the information, but won't just be memorizing answers.
Boost Student Success with 'Return to Lab' Feature
We're thrilled to introduce a new feature now available for our PC Pro 7.0 and Digital Literacy Pro 1.0 courses. With our new "Return to Lab" functionality students can exit a lab, check their progress, then go back and pick up where they left off. With Return to Lab enabled, they will see their progress on required tasks without seeing the explanation steps.
Return to Lab is an opt-in feature. You will need to enable it for your school in order to get the benefit.
Princess Leia got mad when Han Solo wanted to get paid and, to tell the truth, it's still awkward talking about salary with your next (or first) employer. Help your students learn how to be prepared when it's time to sit down with an HR rep or interviewer and talk about what they're worth.
When students apply for a job or internship after high school or college, one of the first things that hiring managers will look at is their résumé. We all have to have one, even if the average recruiter only looks at each résumé for a matter of seconds.
We appreciate having the opportunity to work with so many outstanding educators and we appreciate everything you do for your students! Please reach out to us with any questions you might have. We are always here to help.
